Course Description
How to turn events sustainable? Are there common practices to reduce the impact of festivals, sport events, theaters, fairs and exhibitions? How to think, manage and monitor the reduction of the impact? These are just a few key elements of this special master class that will help students to understand how to think and act green.
The freelance music consultant Marika Lerario guide the participants to analyse the emission and trashes, advise on transports, reduce the wasting, purchase sustainable product and supplies, and adopt all the best and smarter practices to do music with a green eye on short and long-term perspective. Last but not least, she teaches on the best communication manners, and how to positively impact on the citizenships’ perspective and behaviour to be and act green.

- Case History
pecializing in Organization and Marketing for business communication at La Sapienza University of Rome (2021), Marika studied sustainable communication, advocacy, responsible consumption, corporate social responsibility and NGOs, design and evaluation of social innovation and environmental and social sustainability of complex systems; following a degree in Communication Sciences at the University of Salento with a thesis on “liquid music” (2018) and a year of studies in Audiovisual Communication at the Universitat de Valencia. Specializing in music production and tour management with the course of the School of Artistic Production of Santeria (Milan). “Green-check. Eco-sustainable design and communication of music festivals in Italy” is the title of her experimental research on the current state of application of sustainable practices within the Italian live music industry, created together with the KeepOn Live network and Dr Katia Costantino (Eco.Reverb). As a freelance, she works in music production and as a sustainability consultant, helping festival and venue organizers reduce their environmental impact in line with the 2030 Agenda target and monitor their carbon footprint. Marika is also Head of Communication for MONK Roma and and has collaborated with Spring Attitude Festival, Studionero Roma, Locomotive Jazz Festival, Fuck Normality Festival, Visioni Parallele, Villa Ada Roma Incontra il Mondo, Friends&Partner, DNA Concerti and Ortigia Sound System. In 2021 he curated the sustainability project for the exhibition Villa Ada Roma Incontra il Mondo. For many years active as a volunteer with local associations operating for actions of municipal reforestation, for the cleaning and protection of protected natural areas of the national territory (WWF Italia, RomaNatura, Ass. Driade, Plastic Free Italia). Marika is a member of the italian network, Eqauly.
