About
‘AVANT Learn – Advanced Music XLR8R’ is a free, specialized education-training program that aims to form the new music managers of the future. It is open to students and creative unemployed (20-35) willing to learn how to create, produce and manage a music project.
The project was launched by Sud Sonico cultural association in 2022, and funded by the European grant MusicAIRE – An Innovative Recovery for Europe.
If you desire to know more about music management, promotion, fundraising, green music, music tourism, digital project management and copyright… This is the right place for you!
In fact, the course is intended as a dynamic learning space where young music enthusiasts can grow and have fun with other likeminded music enthusiasts. It is divided into three phases – mentorship, master class, and internship – and each phase presents theoretic and pragmatic thinking.
During the mentorship and master classes, conventional and contemporary key topics are explored, such as music management, marketing, communication; digital project management; music tourism; green music; fundraising; event production; copyright & licensing.
During the internships, students are included within the festival team and are in charge to understand the overall logistic and management approach, at AVANT Festival on 5-6th August, Corigliano d’Otranto and at and MUNDI Festival, on 2nd September in Sannicandro di Bari.

- > The attendance to the mentorship, master classes and internships activities are mandatory for 80% of activities. At the end of the project, you will receive a certificate of attendance, together with a resources, readings, links and bibliography.
- > The mentorship and master classes will be running at Castello Volante in Corigliano d’Otranto.
FAQs
Is the course open to anyone?
It is open to students, unemployed and creative professionals aged between 20 and 35 years old. There are no previous qualifications required to participate in the courses but passion for music, arts and culture.

How much time does the Course take?
The mentorship unrolls over two days and takes three hours a day. The mentorship is scheduled for August 2-3rd at Castello di Corigliano d’Otranto. The master classes unroll over six days and take four hour each. The master classes are scheduled at Castello of Corigliano d’Otranto - please check the dates in the Courses page. The internship unroll over three days. Two days are at AVANT Festival on August 5th and 6th at Castello of Corigliano d’Otranto. One day is to be spent at MUNDI Festival
When is the deadline to subscribe to the Course?
We accept applications until July 31st, we’ll let you know the results by August 1st.
How do I get help and support during the course?

What do you intend as internship? Is it remunerated?
The training program offers two so-called internships that are meant as temporary learning experiences.
The internships are about acquiring a vision about how a music festival is designed and realized, rather than delegating specific tasks. This is an opportunity to learn on field not to underestimate, to be in touch with long-term experienced figures that can unveil a to-do approach and vision that otherwise you couldn’t get.
What if I am unable to attend the Mentorship, Master Classes and/or Internship?
The attendance of the course is mandatory at the 80%. If students attend less appointments, we won’t be able to release to students a certificate and the related resources, readings, links and bibliography.
How does a course function?
Each course is a 4 two-hour long live lesson that enables the lecturer and participants to interact with each other in real-time through screen, slides, on-site interventions and pragmatic thinking. The Course also provides suggested readings and PDF presentations to reinforce the concepts reviewed during each class.
Will I be able to access the Course material after the course has finished?
Yes, if you’ll attend at least 80% of the Mentorship, Master Classes and Internships.
Do I receive a certificate when I have completed the Course?
Yes, when you have completed the Course, and if you’ll attend at least 80% of the Mentorship, Master Classes and Internships
How do I reach Castello Volante for the mentorship, the master classes and the AVANT Festival internship?
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to support students in local transportations, as so, we kindly suggest to organize a car with the other students.
How do I reach Castello of Sannicandro di Bari for the MUNDI Festival internship?
We offer our students a shuttle from Lecce to Sannicandro and vice versa, our students should not worry about driving the car.
